The counselors at West Hall Middle are here to help students and families navigate middle school. Professional school counselors are advocates for students. We address academic, personal/social and post secondary planning needs with students. In addition to providing brief counseling services, we meet with families, teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders in our efforts to support students.
Most of our work occurs individually with students and in large group classroom settings. This allows us to meet the varying needs of our students and help prepare them for challenges and difficult decisions as they grow and develop. We provide and support curriculum regarding topics such as healthy relationships, conflict resolution, drug and alcohol awareness, stress and stress management, career planning, occupational and educational exploration, self knowledge and understanding, and digital citizenship.
We encourage you to reach out if you have concerns. Please feel free to call or email with any questions. We are here to help you and your student during middle school.
You may contact the West Hall Middle School Counselors at (770) 967-4871
Confidentiality:
School counselors are mandatory reporters and there are instances with confidentiality must be broken. Cases of endangerment, such as abuse, neglect, and threatening to harm self or others are times when counselors have a legal obligation to break confidentiality. In these instances we must reach out to others who can intervene and help ensure student safety. Guarding and maintaining the privacy of students and their families is a primary concern.
